Fire UPDATE: Spring Creek and Amangani SET Warning

September 1, 2019 by Jackson Hole Radio

UPDATE:
Residents of Spring Creek Resort. Amangani and Pine Siskin Road are ordered to be prepared to evacuate at a moments notice as TCEM has issued a SET bulletin as part of the Ready, Set, Go system.
A brush fire that started about 1:30 PM today has forced the closure of East Broadway and led to the evacuations of nearby condominiums. An evacuation order has been issued for those living in the Deer Ridge Condos and for the Grand Design Building and the Saddle Butte Subdivision. The fire is located across from the Virginian Lodge and Broadway is closed in that vicinity. Traffic is currently being rerouted onto the Snow King Extender, but those heading north of town may also wish to divert onto the Spring Gulch Road. The fast-moving fire is being fought at this time by members of several battalions of Jackson/Teton County Fire aided by a helicopter. As yet, there is no indication about what caused the fire. The public is urged to stay out of the area of the fire and watch for fire equipment and personnel who are still responding.
KMTN 96.9 FM, KJAX, 93.5FM, and KZJH 95.3FM are all covering breaking news.
