The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality has received a request from the Biota Research and Consulting on behalf of Granite Creek Partnership, LLC for State certification of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permit for discharge of dredged or fill material into Granite Creek near Teton Village. The purpose of this project is to enhance fisheries habitat through restoration of eroding banks. Granite Creek is a tributary to Fish Creek. All waters within the Fish Creek drainage are designated Class-1 waters where source point discharges are prohibited except for storm water and construction related discharges. This certification will require meeting the provisions of the Wyoming DEQ Water Quality Rules and Regulations, which allows these discharges under certain circumstances. Proposed activities include a combined 375-feet of bank stabilization using logs, root wads, willow clumps and 36 cubic yards of ballast rock.
