Governor Mark Gordon, in keeping with a directive from the White House, ordered both the US flag and Wyoming State flag be returned to full staff yesterday following the burial of former Vice President Walter Mondale.
Mondale died on April 19th at the age of 93. He served as Vice President under former President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981. Mondale had also been the Democratic Party’s nominee in the 1984 presidential election, but lost to incumbent Ronald Reagan in both an Electoral College and popular vote landslide.
