Gasoline prices continue to fall as the long Christmas weekend approaches. Amerine Woodyard of the Energy Information Administration in Washington D.C. says the national average for a gallon of unleaded gasoline is now $2.37 per gallon.
That’s down 5.2 cents from a week ago. Pump prices were highest in the West Coast states at 3.11 a gallon, down 5.7 cents from a week ago. Prices were lowest in the Gulf Coast region at 2.03 a gallon, down 4.3 cents.
Closer to home, Gasbuddy reports Wyoming’s state average has dropped 5¢ from last week. The state average is now $2.69 per gallon of unleaded regular, with the lowest price – $2.30 a gallon – found in Laramie. Here in Jackson, the prices also continued their downward trend with the average of prices surveyed by Gasbuddy this week at $2.84 per gallon. That’s a decline of 9¢. Prices in the survey ranged from $2.74 to $3.09 a gallon.
