Coach Jason Huggins had to be pleased with the way his team performed in a sweeping Rock Springs at home on Saturday. The Post 43 Giants played a bit of small ball, executing fundamentals like the sacrifice bunt (4 beauties in all), while picking up two much-needed wins as the regular season winds down to a close. A 4-0 victory in game one behind the strong pitching of Connor Lang gave the Giants all the momentum they needed to grab the night cap by a 9-5 score with Quentin Bruno, Seth Christiansen, and Aaron Moya doing most of the heavy lifting on offense. With little time to celebrate, the Giants boarded the bus for Casper for a double-dip with the Oilers. The Giants let one get away with a late-game collapse in game one, finally losing that one 8-5. Game two was a different story as Jackson pounded out 13 hits enroute to a 12-4 win to improve their record to 20-27. Jackson welcomes the Evanston Outlaws to town for a 3-game set this Friday and Saturday—the final games before the beginning of state championship play.
