The Giants grabbed their first win of the year in convincing fashion, jumping all over the Green River Knights in what looked like a football score at game’s end: 14-0. Before the Giants could even celebrate that victory, they faced a tough Evanston squad in their second game Saturday and came up short in that one, 5-2. Sunday, Jackson again came out swinging against Rock Springs, cruising to a 17-1 victory powered by Quentin Bruno’s 2-hit, 5-RBI performance. Starting pitcher Seth Christensen was solid, allowing just one run and striking out 5 in four innings of work. The Sand Puppies had their revenge in the nightcap of the doubleheader Sunday, beating Jackson 12-4. The split of four games over the weekend leaves the Giants record at 2-3. Jackson hosts Green River this Friday, June 5th for a doubleheader beginning at 5:00 pm.
