Governor Mark Gordon, in keeping with President Donald Trump’s Proclamation honoring U.S. Capitol Police Officers Brian D. Sicknick and Howard Liebengood, has ordered both the U.S. and State of Wyoming flags be flown at half-staff statewide until sunset Wednesday. Four days after a violent mob stormed the Capitol, overrunning its police force, Officer Howard Liebengood who was assigned to protect the Senate during the siege died off duty. The Capitol Police union said that Liebengood, a 15-year veteran of the force, “was among the officers who responded to the rioting at the U.S. Capitol” on Wednesday. Officer Brian D. Sicknick passed away Wednesday due to injuries sustained while on-duty and responding to the riots on Wednesday.
