Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon says the opening of Wyoming’s schools will depend on the Coronavirus situation at the time. Governor Gordon says the state believes there should be the flexibility for school districts who know best what decision for reopening is appropriate.
Gordon said, “It is, I think, essential that we try to have our kids back in school as much as possible, but I don’t want to endanger anybody and I want to give our local school districts the tools they need to do the right thing for the people that elected them”
Gordon says we can’t expect Washington to know what’s best for us on every particular event or eventuality. He says the state has a plan that envisions kids going back to school fully, but provides the opportunity that kids can still learn at the same rate even if they are not able to be in the classroom. Teton County School District #1 is to consider its options August third.
