While the duration of the measures to stem the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus in Wyoming is unknown at this time, Teton County School District is examining how to deal with an extended closure – including the possibility of not resuming in-school classes for the remainder of the semester. The Board of Education met Wednesday to discuss the situation and the associated impacts to the schools. While no decisions have been made, given the number of new cases in Wyoming and Teton County we are developing plans to accommodate this closure possibly remaining in effect through the rest of this school year. Friday, Governor Gordon extended the school closures through April 17th as the next step. Until then, Teton County School District #1 will use previously developed learning plans while staff work and collaborate remotely to establish the details of the adaptive learning plan that has been submitted to the Wyoming Department of Education for approval. This plan includes how to provide student and family support and account for attendance and teacher feedback. The Board will meet again on April first at 5:00 pm via Webex to make further determinations.
