Governor Gordon minced no words about the importance of Wyomingites observing the stay-at-home order. During a state update on the COVID19 epidemic Friday afternoon, the Governor defended the posture the state has been taking, rather than issuing more detailed orders.
Gordon said, “If you’re waiting for me to issue a shelter in place order, when you have Dr. Wheeler and Dr. Dowell telling you that you should stay home, and I’m telling you to stay home; what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for “Mother may I?,” or are you taking care of yourself and practicing the common sense we expect? One of the Wyoming values is talk less, and say more. Our orders talk less and say more.”
The Governor pointed out that the health care professionals and the President of the Wyoming Medical Society agree that the current order is the way to go. Gordon also reiterated that those who come to Wyoming for a non-work-related purpose should quarantine for 14 days, and residents who return to the state and do not have essential jobs should also stay home for 14 days.
