Governor Mark Gordon signed a bill yesterday that clears the way for the industrial production of hemp in the state of Wyoming. Hemp is similar to marijuana, but with a much lower level of THC. It was recently removed from the US schedule one of drugs. Hemp is used in the manufacture of a variety of products including rope and medicinal oils to help relieve pain. Supporters of the bill say this could be a major boost to Wyoming’s agriculture industry. The bill passed through the House on a 56-3 third reading vote, and through the Senate 26-3.
