During his State of the State address yesterday, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon pointed to the state’s tourism industry as a bright spot during last year’s economic downturn due to the COVID pandemic. Furthermore, the governor called tourism a “critical industry” that can fuel the state’s economy and that the state simply cannot ignore.
Gordon said, “This year, as people return to more normal travel patterns, and international travel reopens, we can look forward to seeing what pent-up demand for Wyoming and what it has to offer can bring to our state. It’s been reported that nearly $1.6-trillion of savings is raring to go vacationing. Let’s make sure we keep a bit of that in Wyoming.”
Gordon pointed out that tourism is the state’s second largest industry and its largest employer.
