The case of the 22-year-old woman who disappeared from a visit to Grand Teton National Park is becoming stranger. Gabrielle Petito was traveling in a converted van with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie to see national parks throughout the west including those in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. It was in Grand Teton National Park she was last heard from.
Grand Teton National Park Spokesman C.J. Adams says the park is currently coordinating with multiple law enforcement agencies in investigating Petito’s whereabouts.
According to police in North Port, Florida where the couple had been living for the last 2½ years, Laundrie had returned alone to where the couple had been living and the van was found at the home of Laundrie’s parents.
Police say they have no real indication that a crime has taken place in North Port, but admit the circumstances are odd. North Port police spokesperson Josh Taylor says they are not ruling anything out, including that Gabrielle may not want to be found. However, they have also not ruled out that there may be darker circumstances.
