As the saying goes, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire” – but this time, that fire is planned in the Greys River Ranger District and will be limited to slash piles in the area. Forest Spokesperson Mary Cernicek explains that the piles are made up of woody debris that have resulted from the cleanup of hazardous fuels in the area.
The pile locations on the Greys River Ranger District may include Star Valley Ranch and Alpine Bench, Murphy Campground, Bug Creek, North Corral Creek and Spring Creek. The burns will continue from now until the piles are eliminated or weather no longer permits the project.
