Two people were injured in a grizzly bear encounter Tuesday in the Bear Creek area outside of Ennis, Montana. Two men were hiking off trail with a dog about 8:30 pm when they encountered a sow grizzly with cubs. The two deployed bear spray when they were charged and were able to escape, but not without minor injuries. The trail nearest the incident has been closed by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. No other action is planned.
