Gros Ventre Road repaving continues on the Jackson Ranger District of Bridger-Teton National Forest necessitating the closure of the road during the work. The road will be closed between the Geology Turnout and Atherton Creek Campground for most of each day. Closures will apply to all traffic from 8:00 am until noon, and again from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. There will be a one-hour window from noon to 1:00 pm when alternating one-way traffic will be accommodated through the closure. The roadway will be open to two-way traffic at night. Meanwhile, turn around areas will be provided at each end of the construction area. Forest officials say despite the obvious inconvenience, this will result in a huge improvement, landowners, outfitters, and the general public by re-paving and fixing drainage issues on this road.
