Statistics for visitation to Grand Teton National Park during July have been released now, and they indicate that not unlike those in Yellowstone, the number of recreational visits to Grand Teton have declined slightly. According to the National Park Service Visitor Use Statistics Office, a total of 775,788 people entered the park during the month for recreational activities, which is down 2.5% from the same month last year. Still, that is the second highest visitation for July since the park has been keeping records. Together with those passing through the park for purposes other than recreation, 946,779 people were in Grand Teton during July. Park officials suggest that construction on park roads this year may have been a deterrent to July’s visitation. Year-to-date, 2,835,214 people have passed through the park’s entrance stations for a nearly 1¾ % decline in visitation.
