Weekend road maintenance work is planned at Arizona Creek, approximately five miles north of Colter Bay, and Gros Ventre Road on Saturday October 5, Saturday October 12, and Columbus Day, Monday October 14. Travelers should expect one-lane traffic with up to 15-minute delays on these days in addition to week-day delays.
These weekend delays are necessary in order for work to be completed before winter arrives. During this time of the year, visitation to the area winds down, services and facilities are closing, and there is much less traffic, making it the opportune time for this work to take place.
Visitors can call the park road information line at 307-739-3682 or visit the park’s Facebook and Twitter accounts to get information about fall road work locations in the park.
Roadwork schedules may change, or be delayed, due to weather conditions, equipment malfunction, or other extenuating circumstances.
