Not unlike January’s visitation to Yellowstone, visitation statistics from Grand Teton National Park for the first month of the year were down when compared with the previous year. According to the National Park Service Visitor Use Statistics Office, Grand Teton saw 51,648 recreational visits during January which was nearly a nine-percent decline from January 2019. Statistically, that means 4985 fewer people recreated in the park in January. Combined with non-recreational activity in the park however, visitation was only slightly off at ¼%. There were no theories offered, however to explain the downturn.
