The Idaho Falls Post-Register is reporting that the couple who owned and operated Heise Hot Springs Resort was killed Friday evening in the crash of a private plane near Jackpot Nevada. Authorities say the light plane crashed and burned after taking off from the small northeastern Nevada airport. Mike and Robin Quinn owned Heise Hot Springs which has been in the Quinn family since 1942, according to Post-Register archives. A witness told authorities the plane took off to the south and then banked hard to the east before losing altitude before crashing. The cause of the crash is not immediately known Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are expected to arrive in the area to investigate the crash.
