Some cities and towns in Wyoming may be seeing a 7th penny tax in the future. A bill to allow municipalities to allow their voters to approve an additional 1% sales tax has cleared the Senate and is on its way to the governor for his signature. Teton County Senator Mike Gierau says this will give the state’s cities and towns another funding tool in their toolbox.
He said that this could be the first step to eventually removing the $105-million local distribution that the state distributes to local governments.
