The National Weather Service reports that the total snowfall for the season in Jackson is now nearly eight feet. The weather service goes on that the month of February itself is already the second snowiest month on record, and has broken all records here for any February in recorded history — and more snow is still on the way. According to the weather service’s official February measurements, Jackson had received 51.8 inches (or 4 ¼ feet) of snow by yesterday. The most snow received in one month historically was 56 inches received in January of 1969. The National Weather Service has been keeping records since the winter of 1928-29.
