It’s TubaChristmas!!

A whole ensemble of tubas! ………Getting into the spirit of Christmas —– Saturday is the annual TubaChristmas in Jackson Hole marking the 46th anniversary for TUBACHRISTMAS concerts or events presented throughout the United States, Australia, Canada, and Costa Rica. TUBACHRISTMAS was conceived in 1974 by Harvey Phillips as a tribute to his teacher and one-time principal tubist in the John Phillip Sousa Band, William J. Bell who was born on Christmas Day in 1902.  The tradition in Jackson invites tuba and euphonium players from throughout western Wyoming, and has attracted musicians from as far away as central Utah in the past. The concert follows a brief rehearsal at 9:00 am in the Center for the Arts music room, and the free concert takes place at the National Museum of Wildlife Art beginning at noon.
