Jackson girls can’t hang with Rock Springs, Natrona

February 12, 2022 by Jackson Hole Radio

The Jackson ladies gave it all they had against two very tough opponents over the weekend. Holding Rock Springs to 47, and scoring 40 on Natrona Saturday, were moral victories but the scoreboard said otherwise.

Rock Springs 47, Jackson 31

The game, the season, was summed up concisely by head coach Andrea Joyce when asked after the game what the difference was.

“They had a 23, we don’t,” Joyce said, referring to Lady Tigers senior Brenli Jenkins (#23), who started slow and then took control with 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Jackson stayed with the Lady Tigers through the first 16 minutes or more but started to fade when Jenkins and Kamrynn James began getting their shots to fall with more regularity.

Rachel Noyce led all Jackson scorers with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Kasey Carr added 8, Jacie Chatham pitched in 6 while dealing with Jenkins most of the night on defense. Caroline Fouras scored 5.

Natrona 71, Jackson 40

The #4 ranked Natrona Fillies were difficult to contain, getting scoring from almost everywhere. Three players posted double-digit scoring totals—Emma Patik (18 pts.), Megan Hagar (16 pts.), Tamrynn Blom (14 pts.)—leading the Fillies to an easy 31-point victory.

Jackson did manage to put up 40 points on a Natrona team that help Star Valley to a total of 19 the night before. It was the first time the Lady Broncs have score 40 or more since a win over Teton almost two months ago on December 18.

Rachel Noyce (11 pts.), Caroline Fouras (10 pts.), and Anna Revill (9 pts.) paced the Lady Broncs in the losing effort.

Next up

The Jackson girls watched their record fall to 2-12, 0-6. Star Valley Friday night will be a low-scoring war at JHHS before an away contest with Green River.
