Jackson Hole Airport Saturday welcomed home six members of Wyoming’s Army National Guard Unit, C Company, First Battalion, 297th Infantry Regiment, out of Afton; returning home from Kosovo. After a two-week mandatory unit quarantine, they wrapped-up demobilization activities in Texas and finally arrived back in Wyoming. Due to travel restrictions, some of their family members were not able to make the trip to welcome them home, but the airport staff staged a fire truck salute as their vehicle left the airport. A fire truck salute is when two fire trucks simultaneously spray arcs of water over an aircraft as it arrives or departs; but in this case, it was across a vehicle as it departed. One Jackson Hole Airport Board employee, Mike Geiling was among those who returned on the flight.
