Bridger Teton National Forest is advising that most of the campgrounds on the northern end of the forest are still filling by early afternoon, with some of the busiest campgrounds – including Station Creek, East Table, Hoback, Curtis, Atherton, Hatchet, Pacific Creek, and Turpin – filling by mid-morning daily. Some of the more remote campgrounds have space available until mid-afternoon. Sanitation and trash have become an increasing concern with many reports of piles of human waste, toilet paper, and trash left in camps or in fire rings. Curtis Canyon has been overflowing with campers. The forest seeing frequent violations, resource damage, and a steady stream of traffic looking for campsites well into the late evening. Toppings Lake and Shadow Mountain have also been consistently very busy/full, and are not the best places to send hopeful campers. Meanwhile, Bridger Teton National Forest and Grand Teton National Park have implemented Stage 1 fire restrictions starting today – meaning fires are only allowed in designated or installed fire rings or grills in designated campgrounds and picnic areas.
