The Jackson Hole Moose really know how to put on a show. They hometown hockey team gave fans some excitement over the weekend with a pair of 1-goal wins. Missing a couple of top-scoring forwards, the Moose struggled to generate scoring chance on both nights, but so did the Vermont Flex. Jackson missed points leader AJ Sanders and valuable forward Tom Hartnett—out with injuries. The evenly matched teams traded scores all night Friday until a Drew Akins hattrick goal in the 3rd period gave the Moose the win. The Moose needed overtime Saturday for the 5-4 win, getting the game-winner off the stick of defenseman Brad Improta after a perfectly executed give-and-go with Akins. The Jackson Hole Moose finish the regular season 20-6, hitting the self-subscribed 20-game win plateau again this season. They travel to Sun Valley this weekend for the championship against the Suns.
