Law enforcement agencies throughout the west will be out in force tonight to assure New Year’s Eve celebrations don’t spill out onto the roads with impaired drivers behind the wheel.
The Western States Traffic Safety Coalition has initiated a special effort to ensure the dangerous driving behaviors of impaired drivers have no place to hide from the vigilance of law enforcement.
The Western States Traffic Safety Coalition consists of 12 states that include the Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
The state law enforcement agencies that make up the coalition are committed and unified to keeping the people and highways in their communities safe through thoughtful and professional traffic law enforcement activity with a targeted public safety focus. In addition to the state agencies, local law enforcement will be patrolling their towns and counties as well.
