Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Joint Powers Board distributes 5,000 Stay Wild Canvas Bags

The Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Joint Powers Board distributed nearly 5,000 Stay Wild Canvas bags in anticipation of the plastic bag ban recently adopted by the Town of Jackson. The bags were handed out for free at the Jackson Hole airport, the Chamber of Commerce offices and various events around the community including a Green Drinks event, Chamber mixers and Jackson Whole Grocer.
The Stay Wild bag includes a detailed illustration by local artist Tim Tomkinson on various activities and amenities in our valley, along with a rallying cry to visitors and locals to Keep Jackson Hole Wild to ensure that its wonder never fades. “The bags are in great demand as locals and visitors alike have been requesting a bag. I’ve received calls from folks as far away as Maryland, andlocals in the community who appreciate the design and purpose”, said KateSollitt, Executive Director, JHTTB.
The JHTTB plans to do another release of the bags and will distribute at thewinter People’s market beginning January 26th at the Teton County Fairgrounds building. Slow Foods in the Tetons will hand out the bags throughout the winter market season while supplies last. The bags are free and will come in handy at the market and when the plastic bag ban goes into effect in April.
directly from farmers and ranchers and to soak in the good communityatmosphere here at the Winter People’s Market.” said Scott Steen, Executive Director, Slow Foods in the Tetons.
Other campaign initiatives include signage outlining 6 tenets for responsible tourism, the Tag Responsibly, Keep Jackson Hole Wild Instagram effort, and the landing page, visitjacksonhole.com/sustainability, that outlines the priorities and sustainable efforts currently taking place in our valley.
