The Jackson Town Council is giving an across the board pay increase to all members of the town staff to help retain current employees.
The Town of Jackson will spend about 400000 this year dollars to pay for the raise.
Outgoing Town Administrator Larry Pardee told the council on Monday that the additional 3% increase now, while awaiting the outcome of a salary survey, would also send a message to all Town employees that we value their hard work and recognize the challenges of living in Jackson and choosing government service over private industry and also that the Town is committed supporting staff.
The salary survey has been sent to selected markets to compare what other communities are paying. The results are expected back in August.
