The Town Council is scheduled to hold a strategic retreat on February 12-13, 2025, at SpringHill Suites, under the leadership of Chair Arne Jorgensen. The retreat’s focus will be on strategic planning, budget review, and setting priorities for the upcoming fiscal years.
On the first day, the meeting will begin at 9:00 AM with a welcome and an outline of the retreat’s goals. Council members will then share their perspectives on current town issues. This will be followed by a detailed discussion on the budget status, fiscal realities, and future strategies. Directors and division heads will present their priority items, leading into a council dialogue about these priorities, which includes a dot exercise for visual prioritization. The day will conclude with planning for the activities on the second day.
The second day will start with another welcome, setting the tone for the day’s objectives. The council will engage in a 2-year work plan calendar exercise to map out future projects and initiatives. Refinement and finalization of the 2025-2026 work plan will occur, including a check-back on budget strategies. Discussions on council agreements, rules, and procedures are slated to ensure effective governance. The retreat will conclude with the identification of action items and next steps before adjourning.
