Jeremy Albert Best, aged 50, has pleaded guilty to the charges related to the tragic events that occurred in November 2023. Best admitted to First Degree Murder in the death of his 10-month-old son, Zeke Best, and Second Degree Murder for the deaths of his wife, Kali Best, and her unborn child, Freya.
The guilty plea came as part of a plea agreement following a felony mediation session held in Bonneville County, which involved family members of the victims. Under the terms of the agreement, Best is set to face life imprisonment, although both the prosecution and defense retain the ability to argue for additional sentencing conditions.

Originally, Bailey Smith, the Teton County Prosecuting Attorney, had pursued the death penalty, but this option was removed through the plea deal. Best’s sentencing is now scheduled for July 23, 2025.
This case has brought significant attention to the communities of Teton and Bonneville Counties, highlighting issues of crime, justice, and community impact.
