Passenger traffic through the Jackson Hole airport continued to sag with the start of the new year as the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to be felt.
According to the monthly report to the Jackson Hole Airport Board, 32,987 passengers caught flights out of the valley for a 19% decline from last January, and 28, 764 passengers arrived here for an 18% decline.
That compares with a 1% growth that had been seen from January 2019 to 2020. Service to Jackson Hole saw a marked increase from January 2020 with a 24% increase in flights in and out of the valley.
Those flights were provided by five of the seven carriers currently flying into Jackson Hole. Altogether, there were 556 flights to and from the valley during January. Those seven carriers include Alaska, Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, Skywest, and United.
