The Jackson Hole Airport Board has scheduled the upcoming runway reconstruction project for the spring of 2022. The project will require a runway closure from April through June 2022. Specific closure dates will be announced soon. The project is budgeted at $44-million, with most of the funding coming from grants by the Federal Aviation Administration and the State of Wyoming Division of Aeronautics. No local sales or property tax monies are being used to support this project. From April through June of 2022, the Airport will be closed to both airline and general aviation operations. The Airport Board also gave direction to proceed with the initial designs of two future terminal improvement projects: one involves the security screening checkpoint which is to be remodeled to provide additional screening area, improved passenger flow as well as to accommodate the next generation of security screening equipment. The other involves the restaurant area which will be updated to accommodate more seating and expanded kitchen facilities.
