The Jackson girls tend to play to the level of their opponent. If it’s a Star Valley—both teams tend to shoot poorly and become mired in a low-flow, choppy game. A team like Green River seems to bring out the best in the Lady Broncs.
Star Valley 47, Jackson 32
Turnovers were the girls’ undoing against Star Valley. Jackson gave the Lady Braves the ball on at least 27 occasions. Combined with shooting just 20% from the field, the Lady Broncs were fortunate to get 32 points out of the loss.
“It’s so disappointing. We had such a good plan. It just wasn’t our night,” coach Andrea Joyce said in the post-game interview with Jackson Hole Radio. “It’s my belief we can win every game we play but we can’t win like that.”
For a good stretch, the Jackson girls hung around against Star Valley but could not make that jump despite 13 points from Rachel Noyce, and 10 from Casey Carr.
“We are not getting better with every game and that’s my fault. We have to go back to work with another game tomorrow,” Joyce added.
The Braves spread their scoring around judiciously. Kenlee Engelhardt led the Lady Braves with 11 points, followed by Gracee Cazier 7, Olivia Engelhardt 6, Maddie Hale 6, Mia Hutchinson 6, and Amber Milne 6.
Green River 62, Jackson 32
Saturday it was nearly an identical score to the first time these teams met earlier this season in Jackson. The Lady Broncs got early offense from Anna Revill, who finished with 13 points and 9 rebounds, to enable them to hang with the Lady Wolves for a while. But Green River’s constant fullcourt press began creating the steals they are so good at getting, and the Wolves started turning them into points.
Coach Rick Carroll got balanced production out of his Green River offense. Megan Counts led the way with 13 points. Daryn Macy and Ella Stanton added 10 each. Gabby Heiser 7, Eliza Burgess 5, Allysa Cudney 4, Sarah Wilson 4, Oaklee Hanks 4, Jayla Braden 3, and Madison Moffet 2 also showed up on the scoresheet.
For Jackson, Rachel Noyce finished with 10 points and 7 boards. Jacie Chatham 4, Caroline Fouras 3, and Bailey Chamberlain 2, also scored for the Lady Broncs.

The Jackson girls are now 2-15, 0-7 on the season. They will host Evanston (7-12, 1-7) for Senior Night this Saturday beginning at 2pm.
