The Lady Broncs picked up their second win of the season in thrilling fashion, edging the Evanston Red Devils at home Saturday afternoon by a 47-45 score. Jackson controlled the play for much of the first half thanks to forward Bella Gwilliam and her 17 points—12 of those came in the 2nd quarter when she was the only Jackson player to score until Audrey Fouras hit a big 3-pointer as the half ended to give Jackson a 7-point lead at the halfway mark. But the Red Devils came storming back behind a swarming full court press and the shooting of Zocia Nowakowski and Amber Lowe. With Gwilliam fouled out midway through the 3rd, it was the Hardeman sisters to the rescue. Freshman Gracie’s board and a bucket was the eventual game-winner. Sister Hailey, the senior guard, sealed the deal with a big free throw and Jackson hung through the final seconds for their second win of the season. The boys faced a red-hot Red Devil team and lost their 13th game of the season against no wins. Final score there: 59-39, Evanston.
