Wyoming Senator Grant Larson has died at the age of 87. Larson represented District 17 since 1995. He was elected in 1994 and subsequently re-elected in 1998, 2002, and 2006. Larson’s political experience began with his service as Commissioner for Teton County.

After being elected to the Wyoming State Senate, he served as Senate Vice President from 2001 to 2002. He later served as Majority Floor Leader from 2003 to 2004. Larson became President of the Senate in 2005 and served in this position until 2006. In 1968, Larson completed the term of his father, G. Clyde Larson, who was appointed to a six-year term on the Wyoming Highway Commission in 1965, but passed away in three years later. Senator Larson had served in the Air Force as both an officer and a pilot. He and his wife Maralyn had two children.
