As we continue to hear news of the toll coronoavirus is taking on some Washington State nursing homes, nursing homes here are taking no chances. Cathi Sampson of Nye Health Services, says Jackson’s Legacy Lodge has coronavirus measures In place.
Among them, team members are receiving supplemental education re: infection control policy and practices, notices have been posted at the facility letting people know not to visit residents if they are showing any signs of illness, all visitors to the building are being screened as will the nursing home’s employees each day, and all residents and their family members are being required to observe proper infection control – including handwashing, staying at home if they are ill, covering their cough. Sampson says residents will not be going on group outings in the community with Life Enrichment, although they will continue to take scenic drives, and may do more of them during this time. Individual trips out of the building will be limited.
Sampson adds that while no one can guarantee we will not be exposed; staff and administrators will be diligent in ensuring the safety of those they serve at Legacy Lodge
