It appears that a llama used for packing tourists in and out of Yellowstone National Park has gone on strike. Yellowstone officials say the animal was with a string headed for Shoshone Lake in early August when it slipped away, and so far, it has evaded capture. Several tourists and park staff have reported seeing the animal, most recently near Lewis Lake, but the llama is very wary of people and no one has been able to approach it. Yellowstone officials said rangers have been called out periodically when they get a report of a llama sighting. At the same time, they haven’t put a tremendous amount of effort into trying to capture the animal, saying that is actually the responsibility of its owner. Pak officials do say, however that outfitter has been trying to recover his animal.
