On Tuesday, June 18, Federal Highway Administrator Shailen Bhatt will visit Yellowstone National Park to announce significant federal transportation infrastructure grants. These grants aim to modernize roads and improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists within National Parks and on Tribal lands. The funding is part of the Infrastructure Law and Investing in America Agenda, designed to rebuild the nation’s infrastructure.
The event will feature officials from the U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of the Interior, Yellowstone National Park, and surrounding communities. The announcement will take place at Yellowstone National Park’s Glen Creek Trailhead from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. MST, with media asked to arrive by 9:30 a.m. for a pre-event briefing.
Key participants include Shailen Bhatt, Federal Highway Administrator; Joan Mooney, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy, Management and Budget at the Department of the Interior; and Cam Sholly, Yellowstone National Park Superintendent.
