The 26th annual Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race is one for the books now. Finishing its last stage in Teton County, Wyoming Saturday, Erik Laforce came in first with Anny Malo finishing less than one minute slower. Lina Streeper came in third followed by Diane Marquis. But Laforce’s first place finish in the last leg was not enough to put him ahead of the two Canadian women in the lead, so the race ended with Anny Malo claiming her third Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race win in as many years, and Lina Streeper taking second with just an 18 minute 49 second margin between her and first place. LaForce, also from Canada, came in in third.
With a total combined payout of $165,000, the Pedigree Stage Race offers the largest purse in the lower 48 and draws many of the top teams from the northern United States and Canada.
