Many in the community will find themselves celebrating the holidays at home and probably alone. Due to public health concerns, AAA Wyoming expects about 75% of the general public to stay home over the year-end holidays. AAA anticipates at least 34-million fewer travelers compared to last year’s holiday season, while as many as 84.5-million people may still travel from December 23rd through January 3rd. That’s down at least 29% from last year. Those who decide to travel will do so by car, with road trips accounting for 96%of holiday travel. Air travel is expected to be off by about 60%. The CDC urges the public not to travel for the year-end holidays, warning that travel increases the chance of getting and spreading the virus. For those who decide to travel, it’s essential to understand the risks and take steps to stay safe. Those steps include learning about and observing any restrictions in place at your destination, and get tested three to five days before and after your trip.
