Tonight’s regularly-scheduled meeting of the Teton County School District 401 Board of Trustees will be held in the Teton High School auditorium rather than at the District Office in order to accommodate a larger-than-usual expected attendance. The agenda specifically includes discussion of Teton High School’s embattled mascot.
Representatives from the Idaho School Board Association out of Boise will facilitate the public-comment section of the meeting, which takes place early in the meeting. School district officials urge civil discourse in that discussion. Participants should be aware that the school board does not respond to specific issues or answer questions during public comment. After listening to public comment, trustees will discuss the issue among themselves.
Like all board meetings, the public is welcome to remain for all or part of the rest of the meeting. The board will then continue with the rest of its agenda. For those who cannot attend, the meeting will be streamed on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Tonight’s meeting begins at 5:30 pm.
