A mask mandate for Teton County would require face coverings in all businesses and schools if it is issued by the Teton District Health Officer after a mandatory public comment period.
State law requires 48 hours’ notice to the public to allow for comment on the proposed public health order. Teton District Health Officer, Travis Riddell, MD, MPH, announced the proposal Tuesday. That means the mask requirement could go into effect at noon on Thursday.
The order would require masks on anyone in any business open to the public including government facilities.
Diners at restaurants would be allowed to remove masks once seated.
The order would also apply to students, staff, and visitors at schools in Teton County and to anyone on public transportation.
Public comment may be submitted through written or electronic submissions to the Teton District Health Officer, now through Noon, 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Written comments may be hand delivered to the Teton County Clerk’s Office. Electronic submissions shall be made through email to the following email address: healthordercomments@tetoncountywy.gov
