Nearly 10,000 people lined both sides of Cache Street and Broadway in Jackson Friday afternoon as a motorcade brought fallen Marine Lance Corporal Rylee McCollum through town to ultimately be laid to rest here. McCollum was one of the 13 servicemen who died in the line of service in Kabul, Afghanistan at the hands of a suicide bomber. The motorcade accompanying McCollum and his family included representatives from the law enforcement agencies of communities throughout Wyoming as well as nearly 250 motorcyclists from across the west. Wyoming’s entire Washington delegation along with Governor Mark Gordon were on hand at Jackson Hole Airport to receive McCollum back into the state. A memorial service for the Jackson native has not yet been set pending the birth of his child who had been due within three weeks of his death.
