Community members interested in learning more about challenges and opportunities in the dynamic local health care environment will be interested in the new “Behind the Scenes” presentation series at St. John’s Medical Center. “This opportunity is geared toward individuals who want to expand their understanding of the complexities of modern rural health care,” said communications officer Karen Connelly. “It’s an opportunity for people who care about local health care to dig deeper around some key issues and trends.”
The first community conversation will take place on Monday, June 18, facilitated by CEO Paul Beaupré, MD, and John Kren, Chief Financial and Operating Officer. The one-hour presentation and discussion, which will take place at 7:30 am and 5:30 pm in the St. John’s boardroom, will focus on financial topics such as national trends and local considerations affecting the 2019 Medical Center budget, which is currently being developed for approval by the Board of Trustees in July.
“This is something our patients and other community members are asking for,” said Connelly. “We are very grateful for the engagement of our community around issues of health care access and sustainability. It will certainly contribute to higher quality care that best meets the community’s needs.”
