Michelle Weber Named Jackson Chief of Police Chief

The town of Jackson no longer has an interim police chief. Michelle Weber was appointed Chief of Police Chief effective January 20th, and was sworn in by the town council Wednesday night.
Chief Weber, a 16-year-veteran of the Jackson Police Department, brings extensive law enforcement and leadership experience to the role and will build on her last six months leading the Department as Acting Chief of Police.
Weber is a graduate of the FBI’s National Academy, a professional course developed to improve administration of justice in police departments worldwide, a graduate of leadership Jackson Hole and holds a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Leadership and Management.
Prior to stepping in as the Acting Chief of Police, she was the department’s Support/Training Sergeant and supervised the Community Service and Animal Shelter branches of the organization.
Since stepping in to lead the department, Chief Weber has implemented several training programs for local law enforcement including “Understanding Implicit Bias” “Crisis Intervention Training,” and “Fundamentals of Diversity and Inclusion.”
Weber has also been an active member of the community’s volunteer CrimeStoppers board for several years.
