The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department announced on April 24, 2025, that the Mike Yokel Playground Replacement Project is on track to deliver a modern, expanded play structure by June 2025. Construction at Mike Yokel Park is actively progressing, with current tasks including the removal of old playground equipment, woodchips, sidewalks, and curbing to accommodate a larger footprint. Contractors are also installing a fence barrier for safety, removing trees and stumps, and adjusting irrigation lines, including relocating sprinklers. Access to the site is limited to E. Hall Avenue and the park’s parking lot.
For public safety, the active work zone is strictly off-limits, and the department requests that residents adhere to all construction fencing and signage. Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation expressed gratitude for the community’s patience and acknowledged the generosity of project donors, whose contributions are making the new playground possible. The upgraded facility aims to enhance recreational opportunities for families in Jackson.
