Facebook yesterday displayed two videos of a bull moose with large antlers making his way through the Jackson business district in search of cows. Bull moose are particularly unpredictable and dangerous when they are in the rut. One of the videos was in the vicinity of Wells Fargo Bank at the Y-junction and the other was in the parking lot of Hoback Sports at the 5-way. Jackson Wildlife Biologist Aly Courtemanch notes, “We typically get a number of moose calls this time of year because it’s the breeding season, the bulls are starting to travel a lot in pursuit of cows.” Wildlife officials urge people to keep their distance from the large animals and also add it is recommended that people check their speed and be watchful for moose while driving, especially at night.
