The Jackson Hole Moose were able to get past a feisty team from Cleveland in two close games over the weekend. The Moose needed a 3-goal comeback to get the 6-5 win Friday night. Dakota Richardson’s hattrick helped Jackson Hole take advantage of a Cleveland team that cut a path to the penalty box in the 3rd period. The Moose needed overtime Saturday as a penalty-filled game was deadlocked at 7 apiece after regulation. The sudden death OT was ended quickly by a goal from Drew Akins, who finished the weekend with 5 goals and 7 assists. The victories came at a cost, however, as team captain Brian Upesleja was lost for the season with a shoulder injury in Saturday’s contest. The Moose improve to 16-6. They’ll face off against the San Francisco Draft Kings this weekend in the Snow King Sports and Event Center.
